About Protein Analysis

New Protein Analysis Articles from https://cbi-biotech.com/cbi about Protein Analysis, and DNA Analysis.

Biotechnology also has applications in the mining industry. In its natural state, copper is found combined with other elements in the mineral chalcopyrite. The bacterium thiobacillus ferrooxidans can use the molecules of copper found in chalcopyrite to form the compound copper sulfate (cuso4), which, in turn, can be treated chemically to obtain pure copper.

The broad use of genetic engineering techniques in agriculture has raised other concerns beyond issues of biodiversity. Nearly identical homeotic genes have been identified in varied organisms, such as insects, worms, mice, birds, and humans, where they serve similar embryonic development functions. All of the specialized cells in an organism, including those of the skin, muscle, bone, liver, and brain, derive from identical copies of a single fertilized egg cell. In the 1970s scientists used information about replication of viruses and bacteria and about dna synthesis (manufacture) to begin the genetic engineering of bacterial cells. Each new compound is tested not only for its benefits and intended use, but also for any potentially harmful effects on humans and the environment before it is allowed to go into the market. The earliest success in human gene therapy involved the treatment of infants who cannot produce adenosine deaminase (ada), an enzyme important to normal function of the immune system.
